Major Sewer Replacement Complete

We are excited to announce that the El Dorado Water Utilities has recently completed a major sewer replacement project that totaled $1 million dollars.

Starting in May, 2013 and finishing in January, 2014, new sewer lines were replaced under Martin Luther King Boulevard, Marsh Avenue, the intersection of Ouachita and Kinard, Newton Avenue and Mt. Holly Road.

General Manager, Mark Smith said, "This is largest and most expensive sewer line repair ever undertaken by the EWU and includes almost one and a half miles of sewer line replacement.  We thank the public and businesses in the affected area for their patience as streets have been closed for this very important work."

The City of El Dorado has put a new overlay on all of the streets where the work has been completed except for Mt. Holly Road where the overlay work will be completed in the spring of 2014.
